Sometimes you just need the short list, right? When you’re on vacation, good eats are non-negotiable. Though there are tons of great places in our area, we’ve narrowed it down to 3 tried and true winners. Ready, set, go: here are the ABC’s of dining out near our properties in and around the Torch Lake area…
Muffin Tin not only has a darn cute name but also fun merch on display to buy if you want! It’s a MUST if you’re looking for excellent coffee, muffins in a ton of varieties, yogurt parfaits, cookies, and breakfast in downtown Alden.
I can’t even count how many times we’ve stopped at Muffin Tin as a family on our way somewhere for a quick cuppa joe and sweet to go, or sat and enjoyed a mid-morning snack or late breakfast on the outdoor patio with table service.
This gem in Alden is run by friendly owners who run the business with know-how and tasty recipes (if you’re looking for gluten-free options, they have homemade GF muffins plus GF options for breakfast sandwiches and they’re delicious!), and it’s a go-to for both locals and visitors. Just steps away from the scenic dock area with a beautiful lighthouse, this Alden staple is open throughout the high season on top of several months in the shoulder seasons.
It’s popular, fun and hopping (see what we did there ;). This former hardware store turned hotspot serves up tasty fare with its incredible variety of brews and eats. Their salads, sandwiches and specialty mac and cheese items are scrumptious; plus their pizzas are always a hit. Our go-to is the Flutes of the Chi which has a pesto base with chicken breast, herb-roasted tomato, artichoke, roasted garlic, mozzarella, parmigiano reggiano, and finished with a balsamic drizzle.
Many return to this place time and time again with their inviting indoor and outdoor seating, including picnic tables on the front porch, it’s a favorite for many. Add live live music to the mix and Shorts definitely deserves a spot on your list of places to try!
Corner is one of our absolute favorites! It’s located right at the main crossroads at the heart of downtown Bellaire, this comfortable yet upscale gem seems to hit the spot every time.
With a wide range of small plates and delicious desserts, there is something here for everyone. We especially love the cookie skillet for dessert – if you happen to still have room for it!
The ambiance, decor, location, and attentive service elevate the dining experience. Whether you opt for patio or indoor seating, you’re in for a treat – water carafes at your table, a generous but not overwhelming menu, comfy seating, and friendly servicers – this place is a winner indeed.
With a menu catering to all tastes and the option for reservations, it’s perfect for any and all special occasions.
