Water Camp was born in 2020 when, on a dark and stormy day at Torch Lake, Jon and Alison visited what would become the Cedar Cabin. Even through the rain, they were drawn to the bright turquoise blues of the lake and peaceful scenery. Since then, Water Camp has evolved to become a Torch Lake destination, welcoming guests from near and far to experience a true Northern Michigan retreat, a place to rest, connect, and explore.
“What if we could create a place where time stands still?”
Three kids, a few moves, and a pandemic later they found themselves dreaming of finding the perfect family retreat. Somewhere with water and beautiful views, full of nostalgia and the freedom of childhood play. After the perfect little cabin went up for sale, that once far-off dream became a reality.

The cabin is perfectly appointed and decorated and has the best views of the lake. The stand-up paddle board was so much fun, and swimming right off the dock was exactly what we were looking for. Alison was responsive and helpful every step of the way. The other families in the neighboring cabins were welcoming. If you're looking for a cabin on Torch Lake, you won't regret booking this one!

Alison was an EXCEPTIONAL hostess from start to finish always ready to answer our questions & was never intrusive. We especially LOVED the smallest details like locally made soap in the bathroom, food wrap in the kitchen, endless blankets, an abundance of outdoor items to enjoy outside! Pictures do no justice of the majestic sunsets. We can’t wait to come back in the future!
